I’ve been playing shit tons of Final Fantasy 1&2, screw 7... for the GBM. So of COURSE I had to doodle me some Black Mage. Aside from the basic black mage look - the design was all me - nothing was borrowed from an existing mage that I know of.
Black mages, in my world, are rather dark and methodical beings. They have to be! If they’re doing dark magic… so I wanted to update their gear to fit their persona. The huge pack is were they carry all of their potions, concoctions and tools which has thick padding on the shoulder and pits. Each mage, also wears a pair of goggles that allow the to see at night as well as magnify in to what they’re doing. I don’t think it was ever explained why their skin was so black. I guess it’s because darkness overtakes them - so there’s that. |
